This painting opens with a striking contrast — a dark, shadowed sky pierced by radiant beams of light breaking through thick, textured clouds. Aimed to be a poignant reflection of Nadia’s journey in overcoming her struggles with painting, “Colourful Dreams in the Dark” symbolises her path through uncertainty, where she has gradually moved from the shadows into light, transforming difficulty into expression. What once felt dark or uncertain has given way to colour, the vibrant hues, a testament to resilience and self-discovery. Through art, she has found her voice, and now her paintings radiate with feeling, imagination, and renewed confidence.

Ms Nornadia, a talented artist with Intellectual Disability, has been a part of the art and craft project unit at MINDS Regional Hub (Hougang) for the past four years. Throughout her time there, she has developed her skills, embracing new techniques and expressing herself through her art. Her work reflects her unique vision and dedication, and she continues to inspire those around her with her growth as an artist.
