Coloured Reflection

The breathtaking landscape of terraced natural pools, with waters shimmering in vivid shades of turquoise blue, attests to its name, "Coloured Reflection". Cascading downward in an irregular, organic rhythm, each pool is edged by earthy, textured ridges that contrast beautifully with the clarity of the water. The eye is naturally drawn towards the traditional wooden structure, nestled in the centre amidst lush green mountains. The interplay between the luminous water and the warm, rugged terrain lends the scene a dreamlike quality, a tranquil homage to the untouched beauty of nature at its most serene.

Zhang Kaini was a Mandarin teacher in Singapore before a car accident left her paralysed from the shoulders down. Refusing to be defeated by her circumstances, she taught herself to paint by holding a brush between her teeth. With remarkable focus and determination, she made rapid progress and soon began earning a living through her art. Today, her intricate and expressive paintings of the natural world are highly sought after. As a full-time artist and member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Worldwide (MFPA), Kaini continues to inspire others, especially Person with Disabilities (PWDs), through her resilience and creative spirit.
