Steps of Playful Memories

This painting captures playful childhood memories through brightly coloured Peranakan-inspired tiles on an old staircase. The repeated floral and geometric patterns create movement and rhythm. The staircase is reminiscent of children running up and down while playing with paper balls, filling the space with laughter. The bold colours and textured egg-shell mosaics reflect the joy and memories of play within familiar spaces.

About

Christopher is an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who began his art journey under the guidance of his mentor, Teacher Karyn. Over nine years of support, he has grown from simple sketches to detailed wildlife paintings, steadily building skill and confidence. He has recently begun experimenting with dyed eggshells to add texture and depth to his work. Inspired by nature, he uses art as a form of communication and expression.
