Sweet Moments of Play

Inspired by traditional Peranakan snack containers, this artwork transforms everyday food memories into a playful experience. Bright mosaic patterns in blue, pink, yellow, and green create a lively surface that resembles candy-like treasures. The round kueh beside the container adds a touch of nostalgia. The layered egg-shell textures bring movement and tactile playfulness to the painting while celebrating Peranakan culture.

Christopher is an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who began his art journey under the guidance of his mentor, Teacher Karyn. Over nine years of support, he has grown from simple sketches to detailed wildlife paintings, steadily building skill and confidence. He has recently begun experimenting with dyed eggshells to add texture and depth to his work. Inspired by nature, he uses art as a form of communication and expression.
