Peranakan Tea Party Play

This painting is inspired by the joyful warmth of Peranakan tea-time traditions. The colourful teapot, kueh, and decorative serving ware are filled with playful floral motifs and layered mosaic textures created using dyed egg shells. Bright pinks, greens, blues, and yellows bring energy to the composition, while the circular arrangement creates lively atmosphere. The artwork reflects memories of sharing sweets and gathering together during tea time.

About

Christopher is an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who began his art journey under the guidance of his mentor, Teacher Karyn. Over nine years of support, he has grown from simple sketches to detailed wildlife paintings, steadily building skill and confidence. He has recently begun experimenting with dyed eggshells to add texture and depth to his work. Inspired by nature, he uses art as a form of communication and expression.
