Reminiscing his past travels to Hong Kong, Chalmers was inspired to capture the lively essence of Mong Kok, a neighbourhood within. The dazzling, multicoloured neon signs that define the area held a special fascination for the artist, especially as someone with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). For Chalmers, and for many neurodivergent individuals, these bright, shifting lights are far more than a visual feast; they become a joyful form of play. The glowing signs do not just illuminate the scene, they swirl, flash, and dance together, merging into a vivid, enchanting composition that feels alive with energy.

Chalmers, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at 18 months old, has explored art from a young age within a creatively inclined family. A highly visual learner, he expresses his creativity through a blend of Chinese and Western styles in painting and sand art. His talents also extend to music and sports, including achievements at the Special Olympics National Games 2022. Through his online business, he shares his art, fashion and accessories. Despite recognition and opportunities, he continues to face challenges in securing employment.
