By Vincent Seet (Seet Kie Hong)

This painting traces the journey of the Chingay Parade float from 1973 to 2025, symbolising the "Road to UNESCO". First launched in 1973 as a Chinese New Year street procession, Chingay has since evolved into an iconic annual celebration of Singapore’s rich, multi-ethnic, and cosmopolitan culture. For Vincent, the 1973 float holds personal significance, particularly the image of the cow, which inspired his very first drawing and sparked a lifelong journey in the arts. This piece not only honours Singapore’s cultural tapestry but also marks the beginning of a deeply personal creative path.
