With a desire to entice viewers with a different viewpoint, Chong Yao Qing uses analogous colour palettes, patterns, and textures to present a whimsical twist on the still-life painting. His work reflects his hospitable upbringing. In "Cake-tastic", he captures the sweet, comforting memory of his mother's baking — frequently displayed as a treat by his mother for guests. At the heart of the composition lies not just a treat, but a sweet tribute to family, generosity, and the little moments that create a home.

Living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Yao Qing began his art journey at the age of seven, learning various techniques such as shading, colour pencil blending, and poster painting. In 2020, he was introduced to acrylic on canvas, expanding his artistic skills. Yao Qing enjoys art for the creative freedom it offers, allowing him to explore and express his imagination. At ART:DIS, he relishes the freedom to explore the expanse of his creative potential.
