By Tan Beng Leong, Daniel, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists
A time of laughter and warm exchanges, where the joy lies not only in the gift itself, but in the sincerity wrapped within every ribbon curl and fold of paper. Nestled beneath each layer is more than just an item; it is a gesture, a thought, a quiet purpose. Boxing Day, the day after Christmas, invites us to unwrap not just presents, but the care and meaning tucked inside each one — a continuation of giving, and a celebration of togetherness.
About
Tan Beng Leong, Daniel suffered a spinal cord injury in 1982, leaving him with Quadriplegia. Despite the challenges of his new reality, Daniel found a way to express himself through art. Using a brush in his mouth, he began painting, turning what could have been a limitation into a powerful form of self-expression. His artwork reflects his strength, resilience, and determination, showing that creativity can thrive even in the face of adversity.
