By Brenda Teo Wen Yin, Metta Welfare Association (Arts@Metta)
During her visit to Changi Airport's Terminal 2, Brenda found herself captivated by the delicate charm of the bougainvillea — a signature flourish of the airport’s lush landscape. Known for its unique bougainvillea, it stirred a quiet admiration in her heart. Inspired, she paired its brilliance with the elegance of Singapore’s national flower, the iconic Vanda Miss Joaquim. Brenda brought both blossoms to life in this artwork, a celebration of floral grace and national pride. Her painting not only reflects the beauty of nature, but also the lively bougainvillea in full bloom at Changi Airport.
