The artist illustrates how play unites people, creating moments of joy, friendship, and belonging. A lively Chinatown street scene shows individuals of all ages and backgrounds connecting through shared play. Cheerful expressions and colorful buildings radiate warmth, reflecting the spirit of community. Offering a unique perspective from the autism spectrum, the work highlights that meaningful connection can begin with something as simple as playing together.
About
Living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Gladys discovered her passion for art at a young age through cartoons that sparked her interest in drawing. She began by recreating her favourite characters with colouring pencils, later exploring soft clay to create simple 3D forms. With support from her family and art lessons at a community centre, she developed her skills and confidence. She continues to pursue art in her free time as a meaningful part of her life.
