By Lim Zi Liang, Bizlink Centre Singapore Ltd
The artist paints eight marbles resting on the ground from above, recreating the exact vantage point of a child crouched low, eyes fixed on tiny glass balls scattered in the dirt. It is a work rooted in memory, recalling the simple but exhilarating ritual of gathering with friends, where excitement and laughter are found in the most unassuming of games. The composition is deliberately still, allowing the marbles and the ground to carry the full weight of the memory. In its quietness, the piece becomes a tender snapshot of childhood, holding within it the happy echos of play
