Drawing from her own experiences of growing up alongside her grandparents and mother, Kim Lye returns to the memory of a monumental building that defined the landscape of her formative years. The National Theatre, with its iconic architecture and long association with entertainment and public life, becomes both a personal landmark and a collective one. Kim Lye pays homage to an era that has since passed, capturing not only the building's distinctive form but the sense of life it once held.

Kim Lye, diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, discovered her passion for painting in 2022. Since joining Bizlink Centre in 1995, she has embraced opportunities for growth and self-development, eventually finding a creative outlet through art. What began as an opportunity to learn a new skill soon evolved into a meaningful passion. Her distinctive style, characterised by bold colours and flowing water elements, reflects her vibrant personality, optimism and zest for life.
