Where the ocean meets the shore, waves ripple gently across the wet surface of the sand, and as the warm sun descends towards the horizon. The artist loves to visit the beach at sunset with family and friends, finding it deeply therapeutic and a meaningful way to bond with those she holds dear. For her, the sunset holds particular significance: it represents hope and enlightenment. A reminder that no matter the struggles one faces, the light at the end of the tunnel is always there. She draws a quiet parallel to the journey of mental health recovery, which calls for resilience and the courage to keep moving forward. In the fading warmth of the setting sun, she finds not an ending, but a gentle promise.
About
Sabrina, who lives with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other mental health challenges, began her artistic journey through drawing sessions and art classes at the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH). She later pursued private painting lessons for seven years, focusing on acrylic painting and developing her artistic voice. Art has since become a meaningful outlet for expressing her thoughts, emotions and lived experiences, while supporting her ongoing journey of reflection, creativity and personal growth.
