Stanley Lim Min-Chieh presents the metaphor of a rabbit confined within a cage: A symbol of his early years navigating life with disabilities. The rabbit, timid and uncertain, peers out of its cage of isolation and fear. Outside was a world that felt distant and overwhelming. Yet, with the steady support of family, friends, school, church, and community, his dream was less unreachable than it once seemed. Little by little, embracing opportunities bit by bit, his confidence blossomed. This journey, tenderly captured through metaphor, is a tribute to resilience, transformation, and the quiet strength that comes from being seen, supported, and believed in.

Stanley Lim Min-Chieh is a mouth painter whose journey is a testament to resilience and the power of self-expression. After a severe traffic accident in 2005 left him Quadriplegic, Stanley’s life as an aerospace engineer came to an abrupt end. In 2008, he discovered mouth painting — a challenge that soon became a deeply fulfilling way to express himself. His art, born from a place of strength and perseverance, reflects his journey of overcoming adversity. Today, Stanley continues to inspire others through his paintings, demonstrating that even the greatest challenges can lead to unexpected new beginnings.
