By Mohamed Raziq Bin Mohamed Zin, Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore School
A familiar sight in neighbourhoods across Singapore, the black cat in this artwork symbolises the resilience and independent spirit of the beloved street cats. Set against a bold yellow and red backdrop, the cat represents the community felines often cared for by kind-hearted residents. Its curious expression captures the playful yet mysterious nature of these roaming companions, who, despite their freedom, form deep connections with the people around them. Just like Singapore itself—a harmonious blend of different cultures — these street cats embody a sense of belonging, coexisting peacefully in the vibrant cityscape they call home.
