The White Space Adventure

Inspired by the playful style of Hervé Tullet's "Games of Pattern", Mishary Afriq explores the fundamental elements of art through a creative combination of geometric shapes, expressive lines, colour, texture and tactile materials such as a pom-pom, creating a piece full of movement and energy. Working from prior knowledge and observation, Afiq experiments varied lines and shapes to achieve balance and contrast. The layered materials and bright colours speak to an imagination in full bloom and a growing confidence in the expressive possibilities of art.

Mishary Afiq Bin Muhammad Sofian is an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who approaches art with freedom, confidence and imagination. He embraces a spontaneous process, allowing ideas to develop naturally as he works. He enjoys experimenting with textures, shapes and colours, creating expressive and personal artworks that reflect his unique perspective.
