By Goh Jiayi Kyra, AWWA School @ Napiri
Inspired by the animals and sea creatures she has been learning about in school, Kyra created a playful collection of animal friends. From butterflies and owls to underwater creatures, each drawing reflects her curiosity and enjoyment in exploring the animal world. Kyra experimented with colours, patterns and playful details while creating the piece, giving every character its own charm. Much like play itself, this artwork feels imaginative, spontaneous and full of discovery, showing how creativity and learning can come together through joyful self-expression.
About
Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Kyra began drawing at the age of five, using art as a way to express what she enjoys, observes and imagines. Over time, her teachers and family recognised her strong inclination towards creating colourful characters and playful scenes, often inspired by her learning experiences and everyday surroundings. Drawing has since become a meaningful form of self-expression for Kyra, offering her a space to share her thoughts, creativity and joyful spirit through art.
