By Noor Qailah Aireen Soheila Binte Muhammad Fadhil, AWWA School @ Bedok
A joyful girl drifts through a glowing blue world filled with bubbles. The layered textures and bright colours create a feeling of freedom and childlike wonder. The contrast between the crisp, tactile paper figures and the soft, flowing watercolour background creates a sense of depth and warmth. The overall artwork feels calm and reflective, capturing a quiet moment of imagination where a girl is relaxed and calm, surrounded by colour, texture, and the gentle rhythm of water and light.
About
Through art lessons in school, Qailah, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), explores a range of tools and techniques to create her artwork at a pace that suits her. In a supportive environment, she is given space to engage with the creative process in her own way. She is encouraged to explore and experiment rather than focus on perfection, allowing her to see mistakes as part of the creative journey. As her confidence grows, she continues to express herself more freely through her artwork.
