By Muhammad Bin Ahsharafudin @ Maximus Lim Jr, AWWA School @ Bedok
The artist transforms a familiar urban landscape into something warm, expressive, and deeply personal, filling rows of HDB blocks with bold shades of sunny yellow and light green. Paper cut-outs pasted as neat window grids lend each flat a sense of life and individual personality, while a sweeping, colour-blended sky stretches. It is a work that speaks not just of where the artist lives, but of how that place feels: colourful, safe, active, and full of life.
About
Through art lessons at school, Ahsharafudin, an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), has explored a variety of tools and techniques, developing his practice at a pace that feels right for him. Guided by curiosity, he experiments freely in his creative process, where mistakes are not seen as failure but as part of discovery. As he continues to paint, Ahsharafudin grows in confidence, gradually expressing himself more openly and discovering his own unique artistic voice.
