Colours of Joy

This work is a vivid and energetic acrylic spray-paint composition that bursts with spontaneity, layered imagination, and an almost physical sense of motion. The surface becomes a dynamic field of colour in which heavy, saturated passages of paint form dark, brooding clouds of pigment, while lighter areas allow the base to breathe through — creating a rhythm of tension and release that gives the work its restless, living quality. The interplay of density and openness, of control and abandon, transforms the canvas into something that feels less painted than unleashed.

About

Jun Yang, Aaron, and Aslam are young artists with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who develop their creative practice through art lessons at AWWA School. In an inclusive environment, they explore a range of materials, tools and techniques at their own pace. Through guided experimentation, they are encouraged to engage with the creative process freely, allowing confidence and self-expression to grow over time. While each artist brings a unique perspective to their work, art provides all three with a meaningful platform for creativity, communication, and personal growth as they continue to develop their own artistic voices.
