Pecking Around

Wandering freely through a neighbourhood path, the distinct red crown and piercing chirp of roosters are familiar sights and sounds in Singapore’s community spaces. This artwork invites viewers to be at eye with bird found in everyday spaces. Surrounded by greenery and nearby homes, the scene reflects how simple encounters in shared public spaces can bring people closer and create a sense of belonging within the community. Through curiosity, play, and discovery, the artwork celebrates the connections formed through ordinary moments experienced together.

About

Wayne is an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who has grown with positivity and a strong creative spirit. Although he experienced delayed development and began speaking later in childhood, he continues to express himself through art with focus and imagination.

He is deeply passionate about painting and sculpting clay figurines inspired by cartoon characters and imaginative scenes. Through his creative practice, Wayne uses art as a meaningful way to focus, reflect, and express feelings beyond words.
