By Muhammad Naufal, Artzillions
In "Afternoons at the Peranakan House", Naufal presents a familiar and beloved gathering place, its lush plants and patterned tiles framing a space where children once played, neighbours called to one another across doorways, and friendships grew through the slow rhythms of everyday life. A strolling cat moves through the scene with quiet ease, lending the composition a gentle sense of curiosity and the particular freedom of carefree afternoons spent in shared spaces. It is a quiet and deeply felt tribute to community, play, and the spaces that shaped them both.
