A Peranakan-inspired corridor becomes the setting for this tender celebration of shared community life, where everyday moments quietly transform into treasured childhood memories. Patterned tiles and a cat resting in calm repose evoke the unhurried rhythms of a time when children played freely in open corridors and gathered with neighbours in the cool shade of common courtyards. Sijun fills the scene with playful details that speak to the richness found in simple spaces, honouring these passageways as places where community was felt most deeply.

About

Sijun is a cheerful boy with Down Syndrome and a Congenital Heart Defect who finds joy in painting vibrant, colourful scenes. Despite challenges with speech, vision and motor skills, he paints with patience and determination, carefully building each canvas stroke by stroke. Beyong painting, Sijun enjoys designing dream homes on his iPad and aspires to study interior design one day, hoping to create beautiful spaces that bring joy, just like the colours in his artwork.
