Donch Play Play!

In her painting of joyful orchids, Eera reminds us of the Singlish phrase “don’t play play” meaning “be serious.” To her, play is serious and real as it builds her confidence, makes her feel stronger, and, most importantly, brings her happiness. Through her bright colours and flowing lines, Eera shows how the energy and fun of play can ripple outward and invities others to join, share, and connect. In this way, play becomes a bridge that links people, creating joy and community together.

About

Eera is a thoughtful artist who found in art a space for calm, reflection, and self-expression. Living with a learning disability and having faced challenges in a traditional school setting, she gradually built confidence through painting and began developing her interest in art through her school’s Art Club.

Her creative journey has also included community projects, reflecting her belief that art can bring comfort and make a positive difference to elderly individuals living with dementia.
