By Lim Jing Yang Marcus, The Art Faculty
This artwork was inspired by Marcus' encounter with a heron in real life. He was captivated by its tall, graceful form standing still in the water, and struck by how light sparkled across the surface and cast soft reflections. Using varying shades of blue and black, he created clear contrast between the bird and its surroundings, carefully capturing the shimmering patterns and mirrored shapes. He enjoyed bringing every detail to life, especially the way light danced on the water. Through this work, Marcus hopes others will feel the same joy, amazement, and deep appreciation for nature that he felt in that beautiful moment.
