Natalie Holstad lives with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a chronic inflammatory condition that primarily affects the spine and joints, causing stiffness, pain, and reduced mobility. Despite these challenges, she believes deeply in the healing power of art. Her abstract practice explores colour, form, and imagery to create works that uplift both viewers and the spaces they inhabit. She embraces spontaneity in her process, turning unexpected outcomes into opportunities for deeper expression, and uses conscious colour choices to create joyful, soothing compositionsIn 2023, she received a Highly Commended award in the Mature category of the UOL x ART:DIS Art Prize.
