Fun Among the Reeds

Fun Among the Reeds is a graceful and meditative work in the Chinese ink tradition, depicting a stream of fish moving together through the current, their forms weaving fluidly between slender reeds that sway at the water's edge. The soft pastel palette — blues, greens, and the dark browns and greys of the fish — lends the composition a quiet, contemplative atmosphere, as though the viewer has stumbled upon a hidden corner of a still and unhurried world.

About

Mun Choong, living with Cerebral Palsy, is an affectionate and enthusiastic artist whose joyful energy is reflected in his art-making. He is drawn to the natural world, often depicting flora, fauna and garden creatures with a fresh, youthful sensibility. Working with private tutors and his parents, he continues to develop his practice with consistency and joy, while exploring different techniques through workshops such as those by Very Special Arts and The Necessary Stage.
