By Isaac Tan Cheng Khong, APSN Katong School
In this Chinese ink painting, the artist turns his observant eye to life by the riverside, attempting a departure into a new and expressive medium. A yellow building sits beside the water with bum boats moored along the river's edge, an unmistakable evocation of Clarke Quay and its timeless, bustling character. The work captures the rhythm of the city's daily life with quiet confidence, distilling the energy of a familiar urban scene into something contemplative and enduring. It is a study in observation as much as it is in ink.
