By Lee Mun Choong, ARTDIS (Singapore) Ltd.
In this Chinese ink painting on rice paper, Lee Mun Choong captures a serene moment where ships drift gently across an open sea. With inspiration for a holiday by the shore, the scene unfolds with calm brushwork and soft washes, evoking stillness and space. In the distance, the shapes of the greenish mountain surface ground the composition in a sense of place. With a light and observant touch, the artist transforms a fleeting view into a calm reflection on movement, solitude, and the rhythm of sailing.
