A Moment of Gratitude

Inspired by the artist’s experience at the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) Outpatient Day Centre, this painting captures a quiet moment of reflection. A young girl stood before a fish tank, her gaze following the graceful movements of the goldfish. Their serene world mirrored the care and support surrounding her. In that peaceful moment, she realised the nurturing she, too, had received. The day centre, much like Singapore’s society, had offered her stability and opportunities for growth. Just as the goldfish thrived in their well-tended tank, she had been given the space to learn, discover, and find her path. Through this piece, the artist expressed deep gratitude for the kindness, guidance, and community that ensures no one is left behind.
