Tan Kok Leong suffered a serious cervical vertebrae injury, leaving him paralysed from the neck down. Despite this, he taught himself mouth painting in 1988, driven by an unwavering will to create. His dedication was recognised when he received a scholarship in 1989, allowing him to focus more deeply on his art. Over the years, Tan Kok Leong has exhibited widely in Singapore, showcasing his work in both group exhibitions and solo shows. His artistic achievements have earned him numerous awards, and his paintings continue to inspire with their fusion of cultures and profound creativity.
