By Wong Yoon Wee Chalmers

This artwork juxtaposes Singapore’s modern skyline against its humble beginnings, serving as a reminder of 60 years of achievements in Singapore. Towering contemporary structures rise behind familiar old silhouettes, reminding viewers that today’s achievements are built upon the toil and sacrifice of earlier generations. Titled "思源", meaning “to remember the source,” the piece honours the foresight, resilience, and hard work of our forefathers. It is a tribute to the foundations they laid, and a call to carry their legacy forward with gratitude and purpose.
