By Christina Lau Lay Lian, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists
Rare and quietly radiant, the purple orchid is a symbol of reverence, admiration, and quiet dignity. Drawing attention through its rarity, a presence felt more than announced, its beauty and likeness far from unfounded.
Its deep violet hue, rich and regal, evokes echoes of royalty and refinement, once reserved for the elite and the sacred. Each petal appears almost hand-painted, delicate yet enduring, holding within it a quiet strength that resists time. When it blooms, it invites stillness, a breath of grace, unlike any other.
About
After a life-changing car accident in 2005 that left her with C6 spinal cord injury, Christina Lau discovered new ways to express herself through art. Despite being paralysed from her chest down and the loss of finger movements, she transformed her journey from Prison Officer to artist, demonstrating remarkable resilience. Through her artwork, she continues to share her unique perspective, proving that creativity knows no physical bounds.
